ReadyNAS NV+ v2 iTunes media server??
Hello
Sorry for being stupid, but I can't find a way to activate iTunes media server on my ReadyNAS NV+ v2 (running RAIDiatior 5.3.3).
I've tried to search, but no success (I did find a similar question related to ReadyNAS duo v2 in this topic: http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=61484 ). I really hope to stream music from my ReadyNAS to my Apple TV.
Thanks!

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredThe iTunes (Firefly) streaming server is planned to be added to a future firmware release. However this does not support streaming to the AppleTV.
For streaming to the AppleTV you are best to jailbreak the Apple TV and install Plex on it.
The ReadyNAS Ultra/Pro supports running Plex Media Server (see http://www.readynas.com/plex). If you need to transcode (convert video on the fly to stream) you'll need a high end ReadyNAS. If you don't need to transcode then the Ultra 2 would be fine.
A good watch to check whether you need to transcode is to setup Plex Media Server on your Mac. If streaming involves heavy CPU usage then it is transcoding video. - everoAspirantThanks for your clarifying.
At the time being I guess that leaves no hope for streaming content from the NV+ v2 to an Apple TV 3.
IF the Apple TV 3 gets jailbroken, and it will be possible to install XBMC og Plex on it, then maybe it will be possible to stream at least music from ReadyNAS NV+ v2 via DLNA? - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredWith a jailbroken device streaming via ReadyDLNA should be possible provided you install a DLNA client on the Apple TV.
