Actually I was able to open a support ticket when I sold my Duo (v1), and they happily transfered registration to a new owner, who created account specially for that.
Only thing that was required was an e-mail to be sent with unit serial number, a copy of original bill (proof of purchase) and details of a new account.
Also warranty was carried over to a new user.
All this took less than 24h and 3 e-mails, which is excellent, regarding timezone differencies and so on...
