READYNAS NV+v2 password reset

How to reset the password on this system, and allow ready cloud access to the system which at the moment keeps telling me there are no products registered! Even doing a factory reset will not allow me to reset the password. As soon as I try to access the system it asks for the old password which for the life of me I cannot remember?

Becase of labeling issues, make sure you really have a V2, which is black in color and has an external ;power supply.  If it's silver and has a built-in supply, it's a V1 (even if it has a label on it that says "v2").

I'm not sure if you are trying to reset the admin password of the NAS, or get it to work with ReadyCloud.

Neither the NV+ v1 nor the NV+ v2 will work with ReadyCloud.

You have posted your message in the section of this community given over to Apps and Services. (This is easily done, given Netgear's impenetrable community structure.)

You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers about your hardware, in the appropriate section for your device. That's probably here:

ReadyNAS Network Storage: Official NETGEAR Community

I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message.

The NV+ isn't compatible with ReadyCloud - you need a NAS that runs 6.x firmware to use it.

To reset the admin password to the default on an NV+ V2, do an OS re-install per this article: How-do-I-access-the-boot-menu-on-my-ReadyNAS-NV-v2 .  Make sure not to accidently do a Factory Default, as that will erase all data.
