I don't want to blame just Netgear. For sure it was definitely VMware who changed the iSCSI stack.
I can remember they did this the same way with the transition from ESX3 to 3.5 - what a shame!
But I don't think VMware changed critical coding inside the iSCSI Stack since the ESXi 5 announcement
at the partner exchange in june, so Netgear had plenty of time to prepare for the launch - or at least
warn everyone not to install it.
