Didn't you already ask this? The documentation says yes, though I'm not a replicate user.
You have another option btw, you can set up secure rsync over ssh for backup. This requires some port forwarding in your destination system's router, and if the RN516 is behind a corporate firewall, the IT folks might also need to enable passthrough in the firewall.
