ReadyNAS OS 6.1.5 RN104 Performance
Hey Guys, I've had a ReadyNAS 104 for nearly a month now, and have been lurking and reading through these forums for several weeks... I started with 1 disk, then added 2 more, (now totaling 3 x 3 ...

I just spent the last couple of days moving all of my data off of my RN104 to an old NV+ in order to perform this FW upgrade. What a pain in the *ss. I cant say I've seen a performance increase with the new firmware (6.1.5). In fact my old NV+ seems to be performing better. It also appears to have much more stable read/write speeds...take a look at the numbers below from NAS Tester 1.5. Any advice on how to increase performance on the RN104? Currently the anti virus is turned off, also turned off is continuous protection. Only using SMB & AFP right now. After the FW upgrade I started to copy files back to the RN104 from the NV+, windows explorer was reporting anywhere from 14-27 MB/sec. Not sure how accurate that is...it seemed to be with the number of files and how long it took to complete the copy. But according to the NAS tester I'm seeing numbers way below that.
Current Setup
gigabit router
gigabit switch
Laptop (win7 pro) hard wired directly to router, also gigabit
Both NAS systems are hard wired directly to the switch. The laptop is plugged directly into the router.
