Readynas OS 6.3.3 for the rest of us
I noticed that Readynas OS 6.3.3 is now in production. But only for the RN20x series.
Will the rest of the line up be excluded from this version?

- itsjasperLuminaryThat's ARM, not x86. Given 6.2.3 has only just been released for x86 I think it will be a while yet.
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee Retired6.3.3 Betas were made available for x86_64 to give early access to the new kernel.
- Equinox1GuideBut will 6.3.3 be eventually launched to the other platforms?
Itsjasper: What about RN10x? That's ARM too, but is not launched for that line either. - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserThe RN200 never ran the old kernel, so I think this is just a timing thing.
mdgm indicated that new kernel would be phased in slowing on the other platforms. - Equinox1GuideJust out of curiousity.... why wouldnt the old kernel run on RN20x?
What are the real benefits of 6.3.3, if most of the features are on the Readynas layer? - StephenBGuru - Experienced User
I didn't say it wouldn't run. I said it "never ran" - meaning that the RN200 series was released with 6.3.x firmware. That's my recollection anyway.Equinox wrote: Just out of curiousity.... why wouldnt the old kernel run on RN20x?

The newer kernel is supposed to be faster (at least with some workloads). Newer kernels are also easier for developers, and avoids the need for back-porting security patches. - itsjasperLuminary
