ReadyNas OS 6.6.0 upgrade failed and break NAS
Hello, I have a huge issue with my ReadyNas 10200 since the upgrade to the ReadyNas 10200. Yesteday, when I've been connected to the web portal of my NAS, I received the notification that I coul...

Ok I have found a solution.
I retried to update the firmware with an USB drive.
I've used another one than yesteday (yesteday USB3 16 Gio, today USB2 2 Gio) and it seems to work with this one. Not with the firmware 6.6.0 but I also tried with the 6.5.2 one and IT WORKS.
It seems that the update 6.6.0 has been never applied and an update to the 6.5.2 was taken in account.
I've retrieved my NAS, my data and my configuration without lost.
Regards
Mod note: one shouldn't downgrade from 6.6.0 to 6.5.2 but if the upgrade to 6.6.0 never happened then doing what ncante might be O.K.

Hello,
I've got the same issue. While upgrading from ReadyNas OS 6.5.2 to 6.6.0 on my RN10400 it suddenly disappeared from my local network. I checked the device and there is a "do_exit+8ec" message displayed on the LCD. The power button is blinking and does not power off the device when pressed. Ultimately I had cut off the power to the device and powered it on again, but the message still appeared.
OS reinstallation, Factory Reset didn't work either. I have even changed the hard drives to some spare ones, but to no avail.
The NAS is a company property and there are sensitive data stored on it. I have a backup just in case, but what about the hardware? Seems to me like the automatic update failed due to some reasons.
I would be glad for any help.
Kind regards,
Jaroslaw.

You could try disabling WoL and then try the update again. If WoL shows as disabled already try enabling it then disabling it again.

I've tried several USB drives now (prepared according to How do I use the USB Recovery Tool on my ReadyNAS OS 6 storage system?), ranging from 2 to 16 GB, USB 2.0 and 3.0, and no one works. The LCD shows a USB Boot Failure message everytime.
I have a couple of USB drives more to try, but I'm starting to think seriously about TFTP_Boot.
BTW The initial upgrade from ReadyNas OS 6.5.2->6.6.0 was being done on NAS backed by an UPS, so I don't think that power outage could be the reason of a breakdown.

Which firmware did you use for the USB upgrade?
With the 6.6.0, it didn't work for me. It has worked only when I've used the 6.5.2. The only thing is that my current firmware before the update was the 6.5.1 one.
For the protocol to follow in order to prepare the USB drive is the same that I've used for me.

For the USB upgrade I tried 6.6.0 only once or twice, but every drive I had was checked with 6.5.2 loaded onto it.
Yup, the difference between us is that you've had 6.5.1 initially and I had 6.5.2 before the upgrade.
I'll give it a last try tomorrow when I get to work and post the results.
