ReadyNas OS 6.6.0 upgrade failed and break NAS
Hello, I have a huge issue with my ReadyNas 10200 since the upgrade to the ReadyNas 10200. Yesteday, when I've been connected to the web portal of my NAS, I received the notification that I coul...

Ok I have found a solution.
I retried to update the firmware with an USB drive.
I've used another one than yesteday (yesteday USB3 16 Gio, today USB2 2 Gio) and it seems to work with this one. Not with the firmware 6.6.0 but I also tried with the 6.5.2 one and IT WORKS.
It seems that the update 6.6.0 has been never applied and an update to the 6.5.2 was taken in account.
I've retrieved my NAS, my data and my configuration without lost.
Regards
Mod note: one shouldn't downgrade from 6.6.0 to 6.5.2 but if the upgrade to 6.6.0 never happened then doing what ncante might be O.K.

I had the same thing happen to me today. I have a ReadyNas104, do regular updates, the last one was very recently. Was running 6.5.2 when it asked my today to update to 6.6.0.
Started as usual, but then I got the do_exit+8ec screen on the LED and it hung there forever.
I'm trying to follow suggestions here to return to 6.5.2 but I can't get any USB drive to work. It keeps saying USB boot failed!
All the drives are Fat32 formatted. Wondering is there any specific allocation unit size I should set the drive to? Is that why it doesn't work?
I really need help since I can't access any of my info!
Thanks

Hello,
The USB drive that I’ve used is a very simple 2GiB formatted in fat32 with 4kiB allocation units.
I hope you will find a solution for your NAS.

Same USB characterisitcs for me.
I tried the update again, same result.
But i can't find any log that show the root cause of the update failing...

Thanks for the feedback. Most of the ones I tried were already formatted with those specs. No luck so far.
I'm still locked out of my NAS.
Unfortunately, Netgear support is almost inexistant, and can't find anybody in my area that feels they can fix this issue.

I'm currently looking into this and have a few ideas.
Did any of you happen to download your logs before upgrading to 6.6.0 as per the ReadyNAS OS 6: Firmware Upgrade Guide and Tips?
When you run the USB Boot Recovery tool does the system automatically power itself off when done whether successful or not (could take about 5 minutes or so)?

Sorry, no. I didn't download the logs. I've never had issues before.
The NAS starts booting from the USB drive... then almost immediately says Failed!

Can anyone tell me what brand/model USB drive worked for Recovery?
I can't really think of anything else to do.
