Dec 03, 2017ReadyNAS OS 6.9.1 F/W Update GUI Access + USB Drive issues
I've (unforunately) updated to OS 6.9.1 and seem to have lost access to the Web GUI...just loads "Connecting to the ReadyNAS Admin Page..." then "ReadyNAS Admin Page is offline....". I have also ...

GUI access was fixed after several shutdown-reboots, not sure why. The new file system changes affected the USB drive access, and re-enabling SMB + AFP fixed the issue.

You use root as the username; the password is the NAS admin password. Try your old NAS admin password if password doesn't work.

Factory reset is not what I want if I lost my data.
I didn't suggest a factory reset. I said that if you messed it up, Netgear support wouldn't help you. So you'd end up losing data (having no option except a factory reset).

Can I mount that disk and try to get data from any app?
I'm not sure what disk you are talking about. If you get in with ssh, you'd then need to clean the OS partition and try rebooting.

Check to see if you enabled and can access your data via SMB/AFP/NFS, etc.. Try via (LAN/Local) Network and backup you data if you can. Also try via FTP (if you can) on port 21, sFTP/FTPS on port 22 and backup your data.
Otherewise like StephenB said, you will need someone who is an expert in SSH/shell access, to clean up the OS a bit (*not wipe it!).
