ReadyNAS OS 6 cannot find domain name option

Hi,

On the new OS6 , we cannot find the domain name option.
Which doesn't allow us to ping to server1.example.com

In RAIDiator this was under "Network" - "Global settings" - "DNS Settings" -> Domain name

Domain name server 1:
Domain name: example.com

How can you define example.com on the OS6?

In OS6 the only option is to define a DNS server. But where are not able to specify the DNS domain prefix.
Also if i look in the /etc/resolv.conf this is empty
# Generated by Connection Manager
nameserver 127.0.0.1
nameserver ::1

Where are the files of "Connection Manager"?

Kr,

Joeri

  • I'm reading the OP's requirement as a DNS domain name, rather than an AD domain.

i.e.: the lack of a field to enter the DNS domain in the network settings, which is a regression from OS4.
  • Hi Nhellie,

No i am not talking about ad integration.

Like itsjasper told , I want to ad the DNS domain in the network settings..

Do you know if it's possible to manually change this on the linux OS? Like for example /etc/resolv.conf ?

  • After a support request with Netgear we came to the following solution

    connmanctl services
    *AR Wired ethernet_macadressxxx_cable

    connmanctl config ethernet_macadressxxx_cable --domains priv.example.com

    reboot

Netgear support will place a feature request to add the domain box again on OS6 like it was on OS4 in the past.
