After the setup, I understand that you don't have https access to the web ui. Did you try accessing the NAS from windows file explorer (\\nas-p-address in the address bar - using the real NAS ip address of course).

It seems likely that there is a hardware issue of some sort - possibly needing a USB recovery, or possibly a corrupt eeprom (which would require some courtesy help from Netgear).
But perhaps try running the memory diagnostic from the front panel first. The hardware manual for your pro-2 is here: http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/RNDU2000/ReadyNAS_Ultra_UltraPlus_NVX_Pro_HW_en_8July11.pdf The boot menu is described on pages 14-15.
