You have hardware revision 3 of the original NV+. We call all of the original (sparc-based) platforms "NV+ v1" here.

I appreciate the really speedy response and thanks for clarifying the point about the model numbers.
I am not getting any response when pressing the power button, the clicking I referred to was as the kettle lead goes into the socket.
I hope you don't mind but I've included some pictures of the device and want to just double confirm that it is the right part you provided?

FWIW, I have one with the same v3 label as well. I don't use it for primary storage anymore, but I do use it to back up some files on my primary NAS.
4.1.7 was released in Nov 2010, so the NAS would have been manufactured in late 2010 or 2011.
