ReadyNAS RNDU4000 4.2 to OS6 boot failure
I've been wanting to upgrade my legacy NAS to OS6 for some time, so I finally gave it a try yesterday, unsuccessfully.

Did you install the Prep add-on before installing the R4toR6 .bin ? The sole purpose of the Prep add-on is to trigger a factory reset (wipes all data, settings, everything) at the appropriate time.
If you didn't install the Prep add-on you'll need to do a manual factory default using the boot menu.

Will it factory reset to 4.2 or to the OS6 I was trying to install? Also, which version of OS6 would you recommend for the upgrade?

It will factory reset to OS6. I typically would recommend putting the latest firmware on a new setup.

It worked!!! ...and it somehow installed version 6.7.4.
