Readynas Ultra 4 - Corrupt Root/Partitioning Error

I am unable to get started with 4 brand new 4TB drives in this chassis. It had been working fine, until I decided to upgrade to 4.2.30 since the web service has been intermittently hanging.

Soooo, I assume at this point the OS on the internal flash is corrupt, so I want to so a USB recovery. I've created a bootable USB drive and followed the directions to hold th ebackup button in while powering on, but I never get any messages on the LCD. It powers up and I see a blinking cursor - but nothing happens as I wait holding the button in.

Is it time I pitch this and abandon NetGear? I am very tempted as this has really been a pita for me...

All I want to do is start fresh with 3 new drives and no luck.

Yes, I tried the OS Reinstall from the Boot Menu, but that does not seem to work - I goes right into Factory Reset and ultimately a corrupt root error in Raidar and a "partitioning error" on the LCD.

Your system should be fixed. The firmware on the internal flash was corrupt.

I couldn't see a disk installed so I couldn't check if the disk was locked.
