ReadyNAS Ultra 6 - multiple masterbrowsers issue
hello! i have two Ultra 6 nases in the same subnet with Win2003 server.
since i installed NASes, i have fragmented network neighborhood on windows workstations. for example, my win7 laptop showing all computers, but on kitchen win7 laptop i see only three PCs, and tablet sees only my desktop and NASes.
with help of nbtstat, i recognized, there are multiple masterbrowsers (both NASes and Win2003).
i don't know, why they won't elect one. what i tried:
- disable master browser on nases using add-on Toggle Master Browser (despite seemingly correct process (with notification of success), master browsers are still active on nases)
- update firmware of NASes
- disable masterbrowser on Win2003 (after that, only two masterbrowsers were active. neighborhood was still fragmented)
- i even reinstalled OS on the one of workstations, but without any result.
would you recommend me, what to do now?

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredContact support via an online support case and let me know the case number.
If you could attach your logs and config backup zip files to the case that would be good. - okcspbAspirantHello. Thank you, but I fixed my problem. I logged to console (SSH has been enabled earlier) and added
local master = no
to config file of SAMBA (iirc, it was /etc/samba/smb.conf)
Since then, I see no such problem in my network.
