ReadyNAS with USB multidisk external drive enclosure

Hi,

I've got RN 102 and external USB drive enclosure with two disks ( same model and size ) configured as JBOD.

Enclosure was working with my computer without any problems, but after connecting it to ReadyNAS ony one disk was accessible.

Unplugging and plugging again changed only a bit - it was sometimes USB_HDD_2 and sometimes USB_HDD_3 with no rule.

After digging the logs and playing with the devices i've found that udev rule /etc/udev/rules.d/99-disk-chan.rules was the problem - it was overwriting links in /dev/disk/external - when two (or more) disks with same model, speed and size was connected in one external enclosure and caused "disapearing" disk.

faulty rule was:

ENV{DEVTYPE}=="disk",                   ENV{ID_LOCATION}=="?*", \
        SYMLINK+="disk/external/$env{ID_LOCATION}:$env{ID_MODEL}:$env{ID_SERIAL_SHORT}:$env{ID_LINK_SPEED}:$env{ID_SIZE}"

changed to:

ENV{DEVTYPE}=="disk",                   ENV{ID_LOCATION}=="?*", \
        SYMLINK+="disk/external/$env{ID_LOCATION}:$env{ID_MODEL}:$env{ID_SERIAL_SHORT}:$env{ID_LINK_SPEED}:$env{ID_SIZE}:$env{ID_PATH}"

Not nice, i know, but when everything was ok, i went to sleep :)
