Windows only allows you to use one set of user credentials at a time. So one possible explanation is that there was another open SMB session using a different username.
If you normally use the NAS hostname to access shares, you could try using the IP address instead, and see if that works. (or if you normally use the IP address, switch to the hostname). Windows will treat the hostname and the ip address as two different machines, so they can have different credentials.
You could alternatively reboot the PC before you try the mount test, or try running CMD and entering net use * /delete
