Hello mks1,
I have some questions to ask, please see them below:
- What is the model number of your ReadyNAS?
- What is the firmware version?
- What are the apps installed to your ReadyNAS?
- Are you getting an error message on the LCD display?
Honestly this seems needs to be checked from the backend.

This error suggests a problem with /etc/samba/smb.conf
It's not advisable to restore a configuration backup from old firmware as it may be incompatible with current firmware and break things.
