Reconnection of mapped drive letter to RND2150 fail after Windows 10 version 2004 installation

Hi !

After Windows 10 was upgraded to version 2004 the drive letters I have mapped to my RND2150 NAS does not reconnect when the PC is started. It happened on several PC:s. I have tried to map drives both by using the hostname and the IP-address of the NAS but reconnection fails. This have always worked before. What is the problem and how can it be fixed ?

After disconnecting the drive letter and do the mapping once again it works as it should ... but very annoying to do this remapping at each startup

  • It's Windows, not the NAS.  I just created a batch file that deletes and re-maps all of mine and I keep it on my desktop.

Are your NAS user name and/or password different from Windows?  I ask because I believe that Windows is sending the Windows name and password to the NAS and it's failing.  But instead of asking for new ones when you try to access, as it used to, Windows just says it's in use and you have no access.  Knowing this may not help me solve the problem, but it will help me understand it better, I hope.

If anyone who has updated to Windows 2004 does not have this issue, please answer the above question, too.

I use persistent mapped drives on one PC, which is running Windows 2004 - and I haven't seen it.  That PC has a credential stored for the NAS in the credentials manager, and that does include the NAS password.

This is with an OS-6 NAS, I am not mapping drive letters on my legacy NAS (they have SMB disabled).

I have upgraded Windows 10 to version 20H2 and now automatic reconnection of mapped drive letter to RND2150 seems to work.

It did not work immediately after Windows upgrade ... but after some days ... very strange ... not 100% sure it was Windows upgrade that solved the problem.

I have one computer that has been updated to 20H2 and it still tells me the user name and password is incorrect and doesn't ask for new ones, so your issue must be a bit different from mine.
