Recover RNDU2000 admin and password
Have an old RNDU2000. Have not used it for a while. Can see it on RAIDar (operative on ReadyNAS 4.2.22). Can not reach it. Have forgotten the admin and password. Cannot Browse as W10 doesn't support ...

Regarding recovering the Password you will have to perform an OS-Reinstall, the username for the RNDU2000 is always "Admin" that is the default and only username you will use for management.
Performing an OS-Reinstall will reset some settings including the default password which will be "netgear1". You can also perform a Factory reset if you want to. this will reset everything including erasing your data. Note though that data will not be recoverable once a Factory reset is done.
You can still enable SMB1 on Windows 10 if you really want to use the Ultra 2 with it.
The Ultra 2 since it's a 2 bay NAS does not have LCD display so you will rely on the LED lights and by using RAIDar to check on the status of the NAS.

If you are not trying to recover any files from the NAS, then a factory default is probably your better choice -- you start from fresh with the default admin password (netgear1 on your NAS). You can (at least for now) enable SMB1 in Windows 10. Just Google it.
But since you are starting over, you may want to consider converting your NAS to OS6. It solves the SMB1 problem, gives you a more modern interface and a more up to date Linux core, access to more current apps, and sets you up for easier eventual migration to a native OS6 NAS. The down side is that Netgear will not support you, even paid. This forum becomes your sole source of support. If you do plan to do this, you should upgrade the 1GB of RAM to 2GB, as some have found OS6.10.x to be unstable on Intel systems with only 1GB, and all INtel based OS6 NAS have shipped with at least 2GB.
If you want to do this, StephenB keeps the link handy to the appropriate post. Also, don't factory default with all drives under OS4.2.x, as it'll just take a lot longer. Do it with just one drive for a quick set-up that puts you in position for the OS6 conversion.
