Nothing happend when I follow the procedure for USB Recovery
BUt, I've read this information on Xpenology
"WARNING you will loose ReadyNAS OS forever"

Nov 12, 2018...but you could possibly give the box back to the seller and ask for a for a full refund based on what you now found out.
