The article about rawrite is talking about boot recovery which is something quite different. Furthermore the rawrite instructions are for boot recovery for a different model to yours.
Boot Recovery is useful where the firmware on the internal flash is corrupt. Nothing you have said would suggest that is the case.
A firmware re-install re-installs the firmware from the flash over the top of the installation already on the disks and reset a few settings e.g. the admin password and some network settings.

My bad... I just read the part; OS reinstall. Reinstalls the firmware from the internal flash to the disks... so that should do the work, right?
