Repurpose older RN31200
I have an older NETGEAR RN31200 two bay unit.
Physically small and fairly light weight. The device is essentially a surplus item that has been replaced by other ReadyNAS units.
It is running the latest firmware and used as a test/training device. Seems very sturdy -- has lasted many years so far.
I was contemplating stuffing in a couple of 6 or 8 TB drives and configuring for RAID1 and taking it with me as I travel latter in the year. That way I could have a good share of my business and personal files with me.
Aside from possible complaint about speed is there any reason that this would not work??
Any hints would be appreciated.

Depending on how much handling it sees, you may want to consider transporting the drives outside the unit. But otherwise, the plan is sound. But you'll have to work out how you connect it. Does your PC have an Ethernet port you could dedicate to the NAS so you don't have to put the NAS on the local network? A USB Ethernet adapter would be a good option if you don't.
