RN 204 won't shutdown and power button inoperable

I am having an issue where my RN204-100NES will not shut down properly through the admin web console, and the power button does nothing at all.  When the shutdown is issues, it stays with a do_exit_890 message on the unit.  Pressign the power button, regardless of amount of time held, does nothing.  I must pull the power supply.  As soon as it is plugged back in, it automatically starts up, and if I try a shutdown from the power button, nothing happens.  Also, after the initial unplug and re-plug, it cannot find the network on either port.  A second or third cycling of the power ususally gets it to connect.

I have tried to get a case open through the support portal, but it continually loops back to a fatal error has occurred when I get to the stage of "Click to call Customer Support".

Does anyone have any advice on what else I should try, or how to actually get Customer Support on the phone?  Thanks!

  • This unit was replaced by RMA and the replacement is working well.

    Which firmware are you running?

There is a known issue that is addressed in the latest firmware.

Which services and apps are you running?

        Do you use WOL?

Do you use the scheduled power off/on timer?

Have you tried the volume read-only boot menu option?
