OK So I have fixed my issue without having to go to the linux level
If you have set up a readycloud account, you can log in there and upgrade your firmware remotely.
This worked for me, I hadn't thought of this until Netgear informed me that my readycloud account was going to close and once I got in I upgraded the firmware and now I can access the admin page through the network

Hi mdgm.. think I seen you on whirpool... are you able to update the post with the fix, as seems many people having same issues and pulling there hair out as cant find a solution.. I am in same boat..admin screen worked few hours ago.. uninstalled shell in a box.. now no more admin screen... arghh not a good start to a new product. :(
