RN102 Expansion through eSata port
I was wondering if there was possibly any type of expansion similar to the EDA500 for the RN300 and RN500 series NAS; for the RN100 series? Or is the eSata port just for an external hard drive/back u...

There is no way to integrate the USB/esata devices into the raid array. One problem with that approach is that those devices aren't always present (it is much more likely that you will accidentally disconnect or remove power from an external drive than accidentally removing a tray).
The RN104 has reasonable expansion headroom, with 5 TB drives expected to reach the market relatively soon - getting you 15TB in RAID-5. Even the RN102 would reach 10 TB in jbod mode (no redundancy) with those drives. If you need a bigger NAS, then buying the RN3xx or RN5xx is a better option than using the RN1xx esata/USB ports. With the higher end NAS you can create a second array on the EDA500 later on, or get a 6 bay unit and leave some bays for further expansion.
