RN102 not accessable after moving to a new house

Hello,

I just moved houses to my new place. I've hooked up my computer and NAS, but I can acces the NAS from my computer. It is on and seems to be running fine. Like in the old house, this place has  switches and a router between the NAS and my computer. I gave the NAS a fixed IP at my old place (192.168.178.111) but it doesn't work on this network it seems. Any suggestions to access the NAS? Could it have gone from a fixed to a dynamic IP setting? If nothing works, a factory reset should be an option.

With a static address the IP address still needs to match the router the router's address range.  So if the router isn't configured for 192.168.178.x addresses, you won't be able to reach it.

I always recommend reserving IP addresses in the router instead of assigning a static address.  If you had done that, the NAS would have been accessible after the move (although you would still have needed to reserve a new address).

    There are three cures...

    (a) configure your new router to use 192.168.178.x addresses

    (b) directly connect your PC to the NAS (ethernet running from the RN102 to the PC),  Assign the PC IP address 192.168.178.100 temporarily (subnet mask 255.255.255.0, gateway 192.168.178.1).  Then access https://192.168.178.111/admin in your browser and reset the RN102 to use dhcp.  Then connect the PC and NAS back up to the router, and assign the RN102 a reserved address.

    (c) do an OS reinstall on the RN102 (not a factory default).  That will reset its network configuration to DHCP.  It will also reset the NAS admin password to password,  Data and other settings should be preserved.

Thanks Stephen, option B worked for me! I still have to use static adresses since my new provider gives a CD (!) for the config of the router and my current PC doesn't have a working drive. Will look into it later though. Thanks for the suggestion.
