Unable to access RN304 and RN102

OS - Win 11 Pro 24H2

Firmware for RN304 and RN102 - v6.10.10

I have no issues accessing both NAS via webgui. However I simply can't access both via file explorer anymore which is my preferred method. The last time I access both via file explorer is maybe 2-3 months ago. The biggest change during this period is probably when I upgraded to 24H2.

I checked Windows Features and confirmed NFS and SMB are enabled (see image below).

I also have an old Thinkpad laptop running Win 10 Pro 22H2 and have no issues accessing both NASs via webgui and file explorer. It has same windows features enabled.

I do not know what else to do. If anyone can throw me some ideas that would be a blast.

  • Dear Forum Members

After that big Microsoft update, a few days ago, I found that my ReadyNAS devices, the RN102 and RN104, could no longer connect to my Windows 11 file/windows explorer.

Stunned and (a little bit) shocked, I wondered if this was the end of my ReadyNAS devices and usage, with all my important family data (and other stuff) being locked away forever.

So, in desperation, I came back to this forum looking for a possible solution, but all the time being worried that a solution may not exist yet because the MS update was so recent. Anyway, I pushed on and found this YouTube video posted by forum member notspam.

I carefully, but nervously, followed the video's instructions letter by letter and, to my total amazement, it worked. I have now regained access to my RN102 and RN104, while still keeping access to my RNDuoV2s.

Therefore, I must thank the original YouTube poster for making his instructions so clear and easy to follow, which helped to navigate into the "weeds" of Windows 11 without getting lost or causing more damage, and special thanks to notspam for finding this solution and posting it in this forum.

    Cheers
