RN104 Adding Disc
I have 3 4TB drives in my ReadyNAS 104 and have slowly been running out of space. I upgraded a drive in my back machine and freed up another 4TB drive. I have added this to my RN104, I thought ...

Array has rebuilt and new drive is now part of the array (10.9TB).
Not sure what was different this time compared to the others that I tried to add the drive, but thanks

The last disk you added, the one in slot 4 is marked as a spare.
You could try removing it and adding it again if you haven't already.
If that fails to resolve it we could try forcing it to be added to the array.- morganpDec 24, 2015Aspirant
I have removed and reinserted the drive, twice. Each time a new volume data-0 was created, which I destroyed. and the new drive was selectable for formatting.
I have Formatted the drive and the current data volume is now resyncing, 50 hours to go. I am pretty sure this is what happened when the drive was added the first time.
