Array has rebuilt and new drive is now part of the array (10.9TB).
Not sure what was different this time compared to the others that I tried to add the drive, but thanks

It will be clear from the logs.
You could download your logs and send them in (see the Sending Logs link in my sig).

The last disk you added, the one in slot 4 is marked as a spare.
You could try removing it and adding it again if you haven't already.
If that fails to resolve it we could try forcing it to be added to the array.- morganpDec 24, 2015Aspirant
I have removed and reinserted the drive, twice. Each time a new volume data-0 was created, which I destroyed. and the new drive was selectable for formatting.
I have Formatted the drive and the current data volume is now resyncing, 50 hours to go. I am pretty sure this is what happened when the drive was added the first time.

Older ReadyNAS models automatically wiped any disk that was inserted. A lot of people lost data, because they didn't realize their disks needed to be reformatted to be added to the array. So Netgear changed the OS6 behavior
