Hi

I have the same issue (lost access Frontend and I don't have SSH enabled), that other persons in this forum...what can you do?

I lost the connection do this steps:
- First, I've installed the addon PhotoReady NAS (it was my first installation of addons)
- And, as the addon, I don't agree, and I decided uninstall..and while the process was uninstalling...lost connection and then I can't connect to Frontend again

Help me!

  • Looks like I may have fallen victim to this on an RN102....

I enabled the photo app and Plex some time ago but yesterday I started setting up. In setting the upload email, I got errors every time, so just left it, I gather that this is something other people have had an issue with.

I also started Plex syncing quite a lot of photos and music. This started about 15 hours ago, analysing around 100Gb of data. This morning I am unable to access Frontview, either remotely or on the local LAN. The access via Readycloud *on* the local LAN via Teamviewer complains that I need to be on the local LAN to access it!

Unlike other people, I have not attempted to remove any apps.

I can access shares as normal locally via normal Explorer browsing. As I am not physically local to the NAS, I can't see what the LEDs are doing, nor reboot it. I did enable SSH a few days ago.

OS was updated from 6.2.2 a week or so ago, to the Beta.

Could this just be a matter of being patient enough for the Plex sync to complete?

Seeing you are running the beta your issue is different.

    You can try things like

    # top

to check the load on the system
And other commands to check the status of key services:

    # journalctl -a | grep apache2 | tail -n 20
    # journalctl -a | grep readynasd | tail -n 20
    # systemctl status readynasd
    # systemctl status apache2
    # btrfs fi show
    # df -h
    # df -i

It could be that Plex is putting such a high load on the system or there could be something else going on.
  • Thankyou for your suggestions. I thought I would try the simplest things first. The LEDs were not flashing, so I took it that the unit was doing nothing. So, I pulled out the power plug and let it restart. I was then able to reconnect locally, but not sure about remotely until tomorrow.
