RN10400 led blink/flash but nothing more :(

Hello, I just received a RN10400, it had no hdd inside and no power adapter . I buyed a power adapter and I putin a hdd When I connect the power adapter to the rn10400 ..... for couple of secon...

I opened the NAS and fixed the display . Everything works now

Did you purchase it new, or did you buy it used?

If you purchased new, it should have had the power adapter. In that case you should contact Netgear support at my.netgear.com, or (likely better) return it to the seller in exchange for a complete and working unit. Even if you purchased used, you should probably contact the seller.

You could try installing RAIDar in a PC, and see what status it gives you. You can download RAIDar here: http://kb.netgear.com/20684/ReadyNAS-Downloads?cid=wmt_netgear_organic#raidar

Note that if the disk you inserted was formatted, the system will not do the factory install. So you either need to zero the disk, or use the factory default procedure on page 27-28 here: http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/READYNAS-100/ReadyNAS_%20OS6_Desktop_HM_EN.pdf

That procedure does require a working LCD though.

Thank you for your answer . Of course I didn;t buy it new . I buyed it like it is without trying it or smtg . it was a "what you see is what you get for this price" , and I buyed it .

I have a power adapter ( 12V 7.5Ah ) and as I said power button led is blinking . However power button is not working. no matter how often or long I press it .... it does not turn off the nas . when I am giving power is starts and that's it .

I'll get a hdd and zero it , then I'll put it inside , install RAIDar software and will let you know if any progress is made .

Just would like to verify if you were able to get a hard drive installed?

  Friday I will get a sata hdd I can do whatever I want with it , even if it gets broked ...not a problem .
  I'll zero the hdd and then try RAIDar under windows ( must install windows too ) .
  will update when I have all this done .

    RAIDar seems to "see" the machine .
    power led is blinking continuosly , display is not visible / offline .
    photo with raidar print screen, please advice what to do next ( except getting a hdd , zero it and drop it inside the machine )
