RN2120 - Management Service Offline + no SMB access after 6.8.0 update

Hello Aaronfstop,
It does appear after upgrading to the latest version of the firmware you have loss access to the management page and shares. Can you still access the admin page of the NAS? Can the Raidar utility still detect the NAS on the network? Can you download the logs? If you manage to download the logs kindly provide us a copy, you may use file sharing website like wikisend and just PM the download link.

Management service offline

Hi Marty, thanks for getting in touch.
I can see NAS in Raidar but cannot connect to admin page. I have tried to over-install 6.8.0 via /fwbroker but the issue continues.
I have downloaded logs and will send them now.
thanks.
Aaron

Hello Aaronfstop,
Based on the logs, you have used most of your volume space and I believe you were getting a lot of message that volume is below 10% and and you are being asked to free up space or add capacity. The file system error you are getting BTRFS critical (mdl127): unable to find logical 795673034752 len 4096 is not good. I would recommend to contact support and if device is out of warranty you may need to purchase a support contract since the concern may require assistance from the engineers and/or higher tier who can remote in to the NAS and fix this from the backend. Or patiently wait for anyone in the community who has the knowledge in the SSH commands and fixing some issues from the backend.

Do you think if I replaced one of the drives with a larger capacity that would create enough space for it to function again?- Marty_MSep 10, 2017NETGEAR Employee Retired

Hello Aaronfstop,
Replacing the hard drives with higher capacity will help but for now we need to focus on the file system error you are getting BTRFS critical (mdl127): unable to find logical 795673034752 len 4096. BTRFS is the file system the NAS is using and mdl127 refers to the main volume if you have a backup of the content of the NAS then you can consider factory reset and reconfigure and copy the file from the backup. The problem is that right now it appears that the volume is down and if you don't have a backup we will need to have access to that volume and backup the data and fix the file system error and for that we will need to seek assistance from our engineers and/or higher tier who can remote in to the NAS and fix this from the backend.
