RN21400 - Keeps jumping back to the route share.
My Ready NAS214 keeps jumping back to the Base Shares. I have 12 Shares setup. As an example, when I open "Pictures" - "Holidays" - "Cycling" - "Ireland" . (Where "Pictures" is the Share & Holiday...

I have installed an old router as a switch between the 2 NAS units & the curently in use Router.
Photos are most definately loadink much quicker..!!
So far - I havent had it bounce back to the route folder/share.
Fingers crossed its an issue with the router ports.
I will keep an eye on it over the next couple of days.
That's good news!
If it holds up, then perhaps get a real switch for the long-term solution. If your router is supplied by your ISP, you could also try getting a replacement from them.

Ok. That means that you aren't using the path names that are in your first post.
- What firmware are you running on the RN214? What apps are installed?
- Do you have both ethernet ports connected to your router, or only one? If both, what aggregation mode are you using?
- Have you checked the disk health? You can download the log zip file from the web ui, and look at disk_info.log. Also look in network_settings.log at the ethernet stats/errors.

The path names came from what I see on the screen.

Only App is NAS Photos II - Firmware 6.9.3
2.Do you have both ethernet ports connected to your router, or only one?
Only one.
3.Have you checked the disk health?
Disk Health is OK
You can download the log zip file from the web ui, and look at disk_info.log. Also look in network_settings.log at the ethernet stats/errors.
I could not see anything obvious, but then again....what in particular am I looking for..??

In disk info, you are looking for non-zero counts in these fields:
ATA Error Count: 0 Reallocated Sectors: 0 Reallocation Events: 0 Spin Retry Count: 0 Current Pending Sector Count: 0 Uncorrectable Sector Count: 0
In network settings, the statistics are errors, dropped, overruns, frame, and carrier here:
RX packets:92383397 errors:0 dropped:341 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:190945289 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
Occasional RX drops are ok, but you shouldn't be seeing non-zero counts in the other fields. On the network stats, it is useful to get a second set of logs (perhaps about 24 hours later) to give you info on the rate of increase of any errors.
I also suggest resetting the file permissions for one of the shares, and see if that resolves it. Click on the settings wheel for the share, go to the File Access page, and click on the Reset control on the left.
FWIW, I have seen a couple of posts on the internet from people with similar issues with windows. In one case the poster found shortcuts had been created in the network share. When these were deleted, the problem disappeared. Those posts were old, but it might be worth looking for that.

I have tried reseting the File Permissions.....so far it seems to have done the trick.
I will give it a few days before I accept it as a fix.
But so far (Fingers crossed) looks good.
