If you configured a static IP address in the NAS it is more likely that you did that incorrectly.

Did you set a static I.P. address in the NAS web admin interface. If so, you need to check to make sure you specified the correct DNS server addresses.
An alternative way to set a static I.P. address (and the method I prefer) is to assign one to the MAC address using the settings for your Airport Extreme and in the NAS web admin UI configure the NAS to pickup an I.P. address via DHCP.

Hello,
Sorry can't get the second option via Airport Extreme capsule to work. Perhaps a little more detail please?
I looked at the system logs and late this last August 27 System shutting down 10:0pm, August 28, 9:01am ReadyNAs background service started, 9:17am Antivirus updated, 9:27am System rebooting, 9:30 Successfully migrated ReadyCloud proxy settings to global proxy settings (Whats that about), a second later System Alert message failed to send. And it's been like that ever since. Could this be why the Admin Update doesn't work?
Thanks
Pete Miles
