Hi! WD RED 6 TB is on the hardware compatibility list, but according to specs the maximum capacity is 16 TB. If you install 3 X 6 TB with raid 5, how much actual space do you get, and what happens ...

I think you mean 18TB in RAID-5. Of course disk manufacturers use 1TB = 1000^4 Bytes, whereas the NAS uses 1TB = 1024^4 Bytes. Different measurements, same amount of space. So the actual volume capacity will be a little over 16TB.
The specs were written well before 6TB drives were made available, were tested and added to the compatibility list.
