RN316 been syncing for a week
I have a RN316 with 6 3TB disks and being setup as flex raid 6. It has been syncing for a week and is at under 50%. Is that normal?

No. Likely something is wrong with one or more disks.
What disk models are you using? Some models use SMR (Shingles Magnetic Recording), which under some circumstances will have glacial write speeds (and which aren't a good choice for OS-6 ReadyNAS).
Thanks for replying Stephen. I can't remember exact models of hdds but they are all a mix of WD and Seaghate NAS drives. They are all used before in my other NAS drive (with no issues) so you are right, one could be a bad disk. I can access the admin GUI but no information came up. Lights on the RN316 are all blue and thought a bad disk will show up as red. The only thing I can do next is shut down the RN316 and test each hdd using a docking station.
If you can get to the admin GUI, then you can find out the drive part numbers.
Current WD Red "NAS Drives" are SMR and, IMHO, should not be labeled as such. If your previous NAS didn't use RAID, you may have one or more of them and it wouldn't have been as noticeable. Older Red and current Red Plus and Red Pro are CMR, not SMR.
