RN4220X with ArcServe 16.5
Hi
I have a server with ArcServe 16.5 working on my network. This server has a 450 GB SAS disk capacity. 70 PCs are connected on LAN and do the backup with Arc Serve, then pull information from the server when it´s needed.
I want to add ReadyNas 4220X as a volume from my server, so that all information passing through the Arc Serve is saved there and then allow to use the information in a transparent mode, that is to say that the NAS is connected simply it is an extension of the storage capacity.
My questions are:
Is ReadyNAS supportArc Serve 16.5?
Can I made this solution with RN4220?
What would be the topology for this solution?
Regards

I don't know about ArcServe, but there are two basic approaches you can take.
One is to use iSCSI, which the NAS sees as opaque block-based storage.
The second is to use the NAS btrfs file system, which would require that you mount NAS shares on the server (either with SMB or NFS).
I don't know which is better for ArcServe (or if it has direct support for NAS).
