Hi mdgm,
Thank you for your reply and sorry for taking so long to come back with the answer. Basically there isn't any pattern. When I press the power button the led comes on and on lcd it says ReadyNAS. Nothing more, nothing changes. I have tried to reset it following Netgear set of instructions, different hard drives, bought another ram stick, still the same. This is eating me alive. I have found what I believe it is the BIOS chip on eBay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130933038385?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 ) exactly like the one inside so I am buying this one hoping it will came back to life. Other than that I have found another Winbond chip under the motherboard and if this replacement doesn't do I will try that one next. I am also looking for other alternatives to the motherboard since I can not find a replacement.
I know I shouldn't buy from eBay, the ad was missleading and there was someone else that have bought one of these and got it running by replacing the RAM. Me, I always have to work twice than most for the same thing :D . I will get it sorted in the end, I almost always do, because I always wanted one of these but could never afford the price. So yeah, any help, no matter how big or little will help me. Thank you again for your help
