root directories/files to delete
Hi,
Being a Linux newbie I need your help....
On my Readynas Ultra 2 Plus root directory I have some files with strange names. I don't know what they are and if I can delete them without corrupting my NAS. Here's below what I see from the putty shell :
(
@? ??
?} ?
?$??
?? ?
???U???U
addons-config
addons-scripts
bin
c
dev
etc
frontview
home
....
If I use rm -i ?? ? (for the first file name you see in my list), I get an 'rm: cannot remove '??' : No such file or directory
Any answer is appreciated ! Thanks....

- michelefacciniAspirantOk I fix it using the following commands ....
First list bad file with inode e.g.
$ ls –il
Output
14071947 -rw-r--r-- 1 michele dba 0 2010-01-27 15:49 \-®Å
Note: 14071947 is inode number.
Now Use find command to delete file by inode:
$ find . -inum 14071947 -exec rm -f {} \;
It will find that bad file and will remove it with force i.e remove without prompt. - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserAny idea on how those files got created in the first place?
