RR3312 Compatible with EVO 860 mz-76p1t0bw?

I'm looking at getting a diskless enclosure and buying the new EVO 860 SSD's for it.  My only reservation is that they aren't on the compatibility list, although the older 850 PRO MZ-7KE1T0BW is on the compatibility list.  Any reason to think that the 860's wouldn't work?

    Hi ComputerCPR

    Welcome to the Community!

The EVO 860 if right has the same interface SATA 6GB/s so it should be working fine with the RR3312. Given that the 850 Pro is listed we can say the same would go with the 860.

To say, the HCL has not been fully updated or not being updated in a regular interval since doing tests on different disks models and brands do take time but most of the disks coming out today are always compatible with the ReadyNAS systems.

    Hope this helps!

    Regards

Yes, but do pay attention to the "endurance" specification (TBW, or "terabytes written").  Generally that spec is higher for larger capacity SSDs.

If you use flexraid, you could get a larger SSD, but create a smaller RAID group that doesn't use the full capacity.  That is a form of "overprovisioning" that should give you a longer drive life (since scrubs and resyncs only apply to the RAID partition).
