Thanks for the confirmation of our hunch.
Now picture 53 different sites and several backup jobs per site each day. Checking logs is not a viable solution.
In most OS environments when a timer fires that is considered an action. If the timer fires off a job sequence and that job encounters a problem then an exception should be thrown by the job's environment-- again another action.
This is an area that should be improved. Please consider it for the next release.
