Samba daemon using almost 100% CPU
I've only noticed this happening for around 6 months now. I'm running the latest R4 firmware on my Pro 6. Every now and then I will notice file transfers are slow, so I ssh in and fire up top. sm...

I can see that you have Crashplan installed (and have installed an add-on to update libc6 - which is now needed to use Crashplan on RAIDiator-x86 4.2).
The logs you sent showed smb using about 25%. From a quick look I can see in the samba logs some failed attempts to login using your Windows ID, but that wouldn't suggest samba CPU usage of close to 100% to me.- oshaeAug 03, 2016Tutor
Well, generally when I notice it is using 99% I will stop and start the CIFS service on the device. Sometimes I notice when I'm streaming a video from it (Plex Server hosted on a separate server), the playback will stop to buffer a bunch of times. If I pull up top, sure enough smbd will be pinned.
Would an OS reinstall be worth a try?

You could try that if you like. It would break Crashplan.
I assume your data is backed up (e.g. to Crashplan)?
