I agree. Reading through the manual while looking at Frontview, and perhaps posting questions here would be a good start.
And having a backup strategy in place is crucial. NV+ can fail, and you can lose your data when it fails. Also some form of off-site backup is a good idea - it ensures that you would still have your data even if there was some physical compromise at your office (fire, theft, water damage). One common approach is to rotate a couple of USB drives - e.g., week A USB drive 1 is connected to the NAS, USB drive 2 is off site. Week A+1 USB drive 2 is connected to the NAS and drive 1 is off-site.
Also - does your NV+ have a UPS? If not, get one.
