Hi JennC
Thanks for the reply
Sorry I think my question was all over the place, I find it a little hard explaining via text
I have no problem accessing folders or files
The problem is that other systems on local land via windows explorer see the folders (Browse Folders-Music-Video-Pictures) and can access them with no need of user name and passwords, all files can be edited.
But from the same systems on local land if try and access the nas via web browser or network, user name and passwords required
Also why are the folders named differently in windows explorer as to what they are named on the nas eg Video should be Vids and Pictures should be Pics
Even though tere are other folders on the nas only (Browse Folders-Music-Video-Pictures) show up in windows explorer
This has eventuated since 6.6.1 upgrade
also Antivirus plus disappeared
Speed of nas access has dropped drastically
Thanks
Salv

Hello Salv,
Can you access those folders that are named differently? Do they have the same files as shown on the admin page's Shares' files?
AntiVirus plus was removed automatically because the embedded AntiVirus has been updated and Netgear changed to another provider. I guess we'll have to wait for a new AntiVirus plus app.

Hello Salv,
The icons of the folders are not normal. What update are you referring to about AntiVirus? We do not have info about AntiVirus Plus app yet.

Hi JennC
The icons look like that because I rubbed out the names to the fiolders that do not show up
Re Antivirus -> In System overview Antivirus Is on Green and as you can see in pic updated to today
but no Antivirus in apps so what is updating, also this happend after upgrade.
Thanks

seems like this is DLNA sharing. if you don't want it, you can disable the ReadyDLNA service.

Yep!!!! Well done Ki_Adi_Mundi :smileywink::smileyvery-happy:
I had disabled DLNA in each of the folder shares but had not restarted the Nas so
new settings had not taken effect so I thought that was not the issue (@#%##@&*#@!):smileyfrustrated::smileyembarrassed:
Removing the device from windows I then tried adding a new device and the search brought up the Nas as a Digital media Server
Is there a way to keep the DLNA but password protect those folders,
For example living in a shared accommodation sharing the one networkAgain thanks Ki_Adi_Mundi
and also everyone else for there helpSalv
