I can see that your WD disk is not on the Hard Disk HCL. It could well be the problem and NetGear would deny support to help you troubleshoot performance unless this disk is replaced.
Can you download your logs and check partition.log? If your disks are not 4k sector partition aligned that could be a problem. See http://www.rnasguide.com/2011/06/22/why-you-might-want-to-factory-reset-a-sparc-readynas/
EXT3 drivers are need for Windows and Mac to read EXT3 formatted disks. Neither supports them natively.
