Slow Speeds DUO RND2000 v1

I pulled out my network cables and found two listed as 5e, one was already connected to the NAS. Still had the slow upload on the desktop. Connected the desktop cable to the laptop and ran fine. Got around 8MB both ways, the port on the laptop is only 10/100.
Looks like the issue is with NIC. I plugged it into a different PCI slot just to see but made no difference. I might just pick up another card. Any recommendations? Might just get a netgear as everything else I have is netgear, the current card was an Asus.
I also did some tests uploading from desktop to laptop and it was slow so this issue has nothing to do with the NAS :)
