slow transfer speed between 2 Nas 11mb/sec ?

I have an RNDP4000 and a RNDP6000

i wanted to move all the data from the RNDP4000 so that i could set it up again with XRAID-2 (currently raid0)

when i try to transfer files to the RNDP6000 from it, i only get 11mb/sec?? (it will take 3 days to copy across !!)

is there a setting i can change to improve this?

ps. i even tried using both network ports in tandem (merged with same ip and set at "adaptive") but that made no difference.

many thanks

Are you using a backup job to copy the data direct between the two devices or copying the data via your PC? I would recommend using Frontview backup jobs. Use NFS for full backups and then change the backup job properties to use Rsync for incremental backup jobs.

How is your PC connected to the network?

Have you verified the NAS is connected to a gigabit router/switch? Your speeds sound like speeds you'd get using a 100mbit router.

    hi
im just using my computer by opening the 2 drives (mapped network drives) and just teracopying from one folder to the other. Normally when i copy files from just my pc to a NAS , i get around 70mb/sec but between NAS's its 11mb/sec
All routers and switches are gigabit.

Well you are copying the file to your PC and then from there to the other NAS. This is an inefficient way to go.

is that whats happening when im copying between the NAS's ? are the files going from NAS1 - PC - NAS2 ? ok, i see now where im going wrong.

i just did it this way as it was convenient. i didnt want to mess around with the frontview backup in case i messed something up. will give a test and see

    thanks for help

Create test shares on each unit and experiment with those. Then work with real shares.

You can specify a path within a share in the path field (e.g. "foldername/foldername" - no quotes)
