Slow transfer speed on new router, what could be wrong?

Got a new router today, trying to replace my Airport Extreme, got the TP-LINK Archer C3200 on black friday sale, triband with smart connect. Sounded good.

But im experiencing allot slower both read and write speeds now to my Readynas 316 (on wifi). Same cables, same computer, same distance to router. Was expecting faster transfer speed, since I only have my compuyter connected now, and not everything else like on my Airport Extreme when I tested that.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

What firmware are you running on the RN316?

Can you test with wired ethernet?

On WiFi, are you connecting to the C3200 on 5 Ghz or 2.4?

FWIW, based on the specs, I don't think you will get better single-user speeds with the new router.  You could get more throughput with multiple clients though.

      Thanks for your answer.

Only on WIFI here, don't like cables.

Latest firmware om NAS and Router.

      Only use 5Ghz here.

Both the Airport and TP-Link run at same speed according to spec below:

      Airport:

      TP-Link:

How do I setup multiple clients? No network expert to say the least.

Your Airport Extreme should be AC1300, the TP Link is AC1300 on each ot the two 5 Ghz bands.  But your PC can only use one of these bands at a time.

Multiple clients:  A PC, your phone, a tablet, etc all accessing the NAS at the same time.  SmartConnect would allow some of these devices to connect on band-1, the others to connect to band-2.  That would increase throughput if they were all using the WiFi at the same time.

You could try connecting to the tp-link on channel 44 instead of channel 100, and see if that helps.
